An Act relative to protecting consumers of the Commonwealth.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1:  Chapter 94 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following section:-

Section 217 B:  Notwithstanding any general or special law or rule or regulation to the contrary, any mattress, box spring, studio couch or futon mattress which has been previously used by an individual and is later marketed for wholesale sale, retail or otherwise thereof shall be clearly and conspicuously marked thereon and advertised by the seller before any sale with a tag stating the following: “This mattress, box spring, studio couch or futon mattress has been previously used and is being offered for resale.
