An Act updating certain requirements for obtaining liquor licenses.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. (a) Section 26 of chapter 138 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word "citizen”, in line 3, the following words:- or lawful permanent resident.

(b) Said section 26 of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting after the word "citizen”, in line 6, the following words:- or lawful permanent resident.

(c) Said section 26 of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting after the word "citizen”, in line 15, the following words:- or lawful permanent resident.

SECTION 2. (a) Section 15 of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 7, the words “citizens and”.

(b) Said section 15 of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 8, the words “citizens and”.

(c) Said section 15 of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 10, the words “whereof all” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- where a majority of.

(d) Said section 15 of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting after the word “citizens”, in line 10, the following words:- or lawful permanent residents.

(e) Said section 15 of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in lines 14 to 16, the words “and the requirements for a citizen manager or citizen principal representative of an alien licensee”.

(f) Said section 15 of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 55, the words “citizens and”.

(g) Said section 15 of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 57, the words “whereof all” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- where a majority of.

(h) Said section 15 of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting after the word “citizens”, in line 58, the following words:- or lawful permanent residents.

(i) Said section 15 of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in lines 62 to 63, the words “and the requirements for a citizen manager or citizen principal representative of an alien licensee”.

(j) Said section 15 of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 103, the words “citizens and”.

(k) Said section 15 of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 105, the words “whereof all” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- where a majority of.

(l) Said section 15 of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting after the word “citizens”, in line 106, the following words:- or lawful permanent residents.

(m) Said section 15 of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in lines 110 to 111, the words “and the requirements for a citizen manager or citizen principal representative of an alien licensee”.

SECTION 3. (a) Section 18 of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 1 to 2, the words “both a citizen and” and inserting in place thereof the following word:- a.

(b) Said section 18 of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 5, the words “whereof all” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- where a majority of the.

(c) Said section 18 of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting after the word “citizens”, in line 5, the following words:- or lawful permanent residents.

(d) Said section 18 of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in lines 10 to 11, the words “and the requirements for a citizen manager or citizen principal representative of an alien licensee”.

SECTION 4. (a) Section 18A of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 1 to 2, the words “both a citizen and” and inserting in place thereof the following word:- a.

(b) Said section 18A of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in lines 9 to 10, the words “and the requirements for a citizen manager or citizen principal representative of an alien licensee”.

SECTION 5. (a) Section 18C of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 2, the words “both a citizen and” and inserting in place thereof the following word:- a.

(b) Said section 18C of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in lines 3 to 4, the words “directors are all citizens” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- majority of directors are citizens or lawful permanent residents.

(c) Said section 18C of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in lines 6 to 7, the words “members are all citizens” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- majority of members are citizens or lawful permanent residents.

SECTION 6. Section 19 of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 1-2, the following words “both a citizen and” and inserting in place thereof the following word:- a.

SECTION 7. Section 19A of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 1 to 2, the words “citizens” and inserting in place thereof the following word:- residents.

SECTION 8. Section 19B of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 3, the words “both a citizen and” and inserting in place thereof the following word:- a.

SECTION 9. Section 19C of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 3, the words “both a citizen and” and inserting in place thereof the following word:- a.

SECTION 10. Section 19D of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 2, the words “citizen or permanent legal resident” and inserting in place thereof the following word:- resident.

SECTION 11. Section 19E of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 3, the words “both a citizen and” and inserting in place thereof the following word:- a.
