An Act creating a local option property tax cap.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 40 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following new section:-
Section 56A
A city or town which accepts this section in the manner provided in section 4 of chapter 4 may impose a cap on property taxes for homeowners of the age of sixty five or over.
