Lombardo for legislation to authorize public bodies to meet in executive sessions to consider certain requests for proposals, purchase orders, bids and other solicitations of third party services.  State Administration and Regulatory Oversight.

An Act further defining executive sessions held by public bodies.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Subsection (a) of section 21 of chapter 30A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the tenth paragraph, the following paragraph:-

11.  To discuss requests for proposals, purchase orders, bids and other solicitations of third party services, including but not limited to goods and services provided by accountants, attorneys, auditors, consultants, contractors, computer services professionals, experts and other vendors, if the chair declares that an open meeting may have a detrimental effect on the negotiating position of the public body.
