An Act declaring the second Monday in October as "Italian-American Heritage Day".
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 12V of Chapter 6 of is hereby amended by striking out the words "Columbus Day" and inserting in place thereof-
-Italian-American Heritage Day
Section 12V of Chapter 6 is hereby further amended by striking out "Christopher Columbus, discoverer of America, may be perpetuated." and inserting in place thereof-
-Italian-Americans and their contributions to the cultural, economic, and political landscape of the Commonwealth may be perpetuated.
