An Act Changing the Definition of a Gateway City.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 3A of chapter 23A, of the General Laws as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking the definition for “Gateway Municipality,” and inserting in place thereof the following new definition:--

“Gateway Municipality” a municipality with a population greater than 35,000 and less than 250,000, a median household income below the commonwealth’s average and a rate of educational attainment of a bachelor’s degree or above that is below the commonwealth’s average, or a municipality with a average seasonally adjusted unemployment rate that is higher than that of the states average.
