An Act to reduce the fee for motor vehicle veteran registration plates.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1: Paragraph 15 of section 2 of said chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the words in line 397 - 399, “There shall be an annual $20 fee for such "VETERAN'' plates in addition to the established registration fee for private passenger motor vehicles and motorcycles” and inserting in place thereof the following:-
“The fee for such “VETERAN” plates shall be the established registration fee for private passenger motor vehicles and motorcycles.”
SECTION 2: Notwithstanding any other general or special law, or regulation to the contrary, the fee for the issuance or renewal of motor vehicle “VETERAN” registration plates under paragraph 15 of section 2 of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as amended by section 1 of this act, shall not be increased by any additional registration or special fees.
SECTION 3: This act shall take effect 270 days after its passage.
