An Act relative to election ballots.

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to establish forthwith a veteran designation on ballots, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

The third paragraph of section 41 of chapter 54 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following sentence:- The word “veteran” shall be added in the same space to the name of each candidate for state, city or town office who is a veteran as defined in section 1 of chapter 31 if the candidate so requests.
