An Act relative to veterans' burial expenses.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 8 of chapter 115 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the first sentence and inserting in place thereof the following sentence:-  Amounts expended by the burial agent under the provisions of section 7 shall not exceed $4,000 for the funeral and burial of a person under this chapter; provided, that the cost of funeral and burial does not exceed $5,000 and there are insufficient resources in the estate of such person pay for the cost of such funeral and burial.
