By Representative Kulik of Worthington and Senator Downing, a joint petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 3191) of Stephen Kulik and Benjamin B. Downing (by vote of the town) that the town of Williamsburg be authorized to continue the employment of fire fighter Paul Sanderson, not withstanding the maximum age requirement.  Public Service.  [Local Approval Received.]

An Act authorizing the town of Williamsburg to continue the employment of firefighter Paul Sanderson.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Paul Sanderson, a firefighter with the fire department of the town of Williamsburg, may continue in the position until November 17, 2019; provided, however, that Paul Sanderson is mentally and physically capable of performing the duties of the position. If requested, Paul Sanderson shall, at his own expense, be examined by an impartial physician designated by the town to determine his capacity. No further deductions shall be made from the regular compensation of Paul Sanderson pursuant to chapter 32 of the General Laws for any service subsequent to November 17, 2014 and upon retirement Paul Sanderson shall receive a superannuation retirement allowance equal to that which he would have been entitled had he retired on November 17, 2014.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
