An Act relative to education funding for gateway communities.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Chapter 71A of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following section:-

Section 10.  Any municipality with an increase over 2 consecutive years of over 25 per cent enrollment of students who are English language learners in its public school system shall be eligible for any education funding that is available to a gateway municipality, as defined in section 3A of chapter 23A, without having to meet the criteria required to be a gateway municipality.
