An Act establishing a special commission to study the administration of services to state owned forest and recreational lands in the Commonwealth.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
There shall be a special commission established pursuant to section 2A of chapter 4 of the General Laws to study and investigate the administration of services to state owned forest and recreational lands in the Commonwealth. The commission shall consist of 2 members of the house of representatives, 1 of whom shall be nominated by the minority leader, 2 members of the senate, 1 of whom shall be nominated by the minority leader, the secretary of energy and environmental affairs or a designee, the commissioner of conversation and recreation or a designee, the director of the division of fisheries and wildlife or a designee and 4 members to be appointed by the governor. The members of the commission may elect a member to serve as chair. As part of its study and investigation, the commission shall analyze current services provided to state owned forest and recreation land in the commonwealth. The commission shall identify practices and methods for administering services to state owned forest and recreational lands that need improvement and recommend ways in which such practices and methods could be improved.
