An Act relative to retirement allowances for retirees of authorities.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, no person retired from the commonwealth who is employed by an authority, that as of January 1, 2014 is not a participant in the state employee’s retirement system governed by chapter 32 of the General Laws shall be subject to post retirement earnings restrictions pursuant to subsection (a) or (b) of section 91 of said chapter 32. Any person so employed who waived receipt of their retirement allowance shall have said retirement allowance restored as of the date of their retirement. For purposes of this act, “authority” shall mean a state authority, as defined in section 1 of chapter 29 of the General Laws, or an authority created pursuant to section 3 of chapter 161B of the General Laws or section 14 of said chapter 161B.
