By Mr. Kafka of Stoughton, a petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 3280) of Louis L. Kafka, William C. Galvin and Brian A. Joyce (by vote of the town) that the town of Stoughton be authorized to exempt certain employees of the department of public works in said town from the civil service law.  Public Service.  [Local Approval Received.]

In the One Hundred and Eighty-Ninth General Court

An Act exempting all offices and positions in the department of public works in the town of Stoughton from the civil service law.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 1: Chapter 354 of the acts of 1960 is hereby repealed.

Section 2: All offices and positions in the department of public works of the town of Stoughton shall be exempt from chapter 31 of the General Laws.

Section 3: Section 2 shall not impair the civil service status of any person employed by the department of public works of the town of Stoughton on the effective date of this act.

Section 4: This act shall take effect upon its passage.
