An Act regarding the South Boston Community Development Foundation.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1:  Subsection (g) of section 4 of chapter 152 of the acts of 1997 is hereby amended by striking out the first and second paragraphs and inserting in place thereof the following paragraph:-

(i) The South Boston Community Development Foundation, hereinafter the foundation, shall consist of a committee of 13 members: 9 members appointed by the governor, 3 of whom shall be small business owners from the locally impacted neighborhood, 3 of whom shall be appointed from a list of persons nominated by the state senator from the first Suffolk district, 3 of whom shall be appointed from a list of persons nominated by the state representative from the fourth Suffolk district; 3 members appointed by the mayor who shall be representatives of local social service agencies; and the Boston city councilor from district two or his designee; all of whom, with the exception of the elected officials, shall be residents of South Boston and shall serve a two year term which may be extended by reappointment.
