An Act to criminalize animal abuse in the presence of children.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 77 of chapter 272 of the General Laws, as amended by section 3 of chapter 293 of the acts of 2014, is hereby further amended by inserting after the words “$10,000 or by both such fine and imprisonment”, as appearing in said section 3 of said chapter 293, the following words:- ; and provided further that whoever commits such an offense in the presence of a person under the age of 14 shall be punished by imprisonment in state prison for not more than 10 years or by a fine of not more than $10,000 or by both such fine and imprisonment.
