By Representative Bradley of Hingham and Senator Hedlund, a joint petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 3596) of Garrett J. Bradley and Robert L. Hedlund (by vote of the town) that the town of Hull be authorized to exempt the police chief of said town from provisions of the civil service law.  Public Service.  [Local Approval Received.]

An Act exempting the position of police chief in the town of Hull from the civil service law.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the position of police chief of the town of Hull shall be exempt from chapter 31 of the General Laws.

SECTION 2. Section 1 shall not impair the civil service status of any incumbent holding the office of police chief of the town of Hull on the effective date of this act.

SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
