(2015-2016)

_______________

An Act to establish a school pilot anti-violence silent alarm program.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Help should Only be the Push of a Button Away when it comes to our children. We have this system set up to protect money, jewelry, fur, OTHER ARTS AND ARTIFACTS.

Establish and install into twelve schools (private, public, pilot, and charter) randomly selected across the commonwealth. This bill would direct the Department of Education to work collaboratively with the Department of Public Safety to create a pilot program that would install silent alarm systems that would link the schools to the emergency 911 and first responders system within their area.

Whatever the emergency – hold up, break-in or fire – pushing the panic button will notify our monitoring center that something is wrong and urgent help is needed. And will immediately call the appropriate authorities and direct them to the location when a panic button is activated.

Along with the panic buttons that come on your First Alert Keypad, panic buttons are available as key fobs, pendants, and as actual panic buttons to place around your building, including under desks and, or wherever they need them.
