By Representative Moran of Lawrence and Senator L'Italien, a joint petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 3816) of Frank A. Moran and Barbara L'Italien (with the approval of the mayor and city council) that the city of Lawrence be authorized to appoint Eileen O’Connor Bernal to the position of chief of staff to the mayor of the city of Lawrence.  Municipalities and Regional Government.  [Local Approval Received.]

An Act authorizing the appointment of Eileen O’Connor Bernal to the position of chief of staff to the mayor of the city of Lawrence.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the charter of the city of Lawrence or any general or special law to the contrary, Eileen O’Connor Bernal, upon the issuance of her resignation of her elected position of city councilor, shall be eligible to be appointed to the position of chief of staff to the mayor of the city of Lawrence, Daniel Rivera.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect as of September 1, 2015.
