By Mr. Straus of Mattapoisett, a petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 3924) of William M. Straus (by vote of the town) that the town of Mattapoisett be authorized to require a two thirds majority vote of the town meeting to modify the bylaws of said town.  Municipalities and Regional Government.  [Local Approval Received.]

An Act relative to the town of Mattapoisett general by-laws.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.   Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, any addition, amendment, modification, or deletion to the Mattapoisett General Bylaws shall require a two-thirds majority vote of Town Meeting.

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
