An Act relative to the lease of the Simes House in the Town of Plymouth for its historic preservation, restoration and rehabilitation.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law to the contrary, the Town of Plymouth, acting by and through its Board of Selectmen, is hereby authorized to enter into a long-term ground lease of a property owned by the town known as the Simes House, located at 29 Manomet Point Road, Plymouth, provided however, that said lease shall be subject to the provisions of section sixteen of chapter 30B of the general laws. Said leave may provide that the lessee shall be responsible for the design, development, construction and maintenance of improvements to the site as outlined in the lease agreement.

SECTION 2. The design and historic preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of the Simes House on this site shall be exempt from the provisions of chapter 149 of the general laws.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
