An Act requiring gas stations to provide air compressors for free public use.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Chapter 94 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after section 295B the following section:-

Section 295B 1/2. Any retail dealer of motor fuel for sale to the public shall make reasonable accommodations to provide on the premises, for free public use, an air compressor for the purpose of tire inflation and a gauge for measuring air pressure during the hours such premises are open for business.  Each retail dealer shall display and maintain on such air compressor a sign, clearly visible and not less than 8 inches by 10 inches in size, stating the availability of an air compressor for free public use and the operating hours of the premises.  Such air compressor shall be capable of producing at least 80 pounds per square inch pressure at the outlet.
