An Act relative to regional school district instructors service as an elected official in the city of New Bedford.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1:  Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, any employee or instructor at a Regional School District receiving a salary for his or her services as such an employee or instructor shall also be eligible to receive the established salary for his or her services as an elected municipal official in the City of New Bedford.

SECTION 2:  Any elected municipal official representing the City of New Bedford who simultaneously serves as an employee or instructor of the Regional School District may fully participate in matters as an elected municipal official, except in matters where he or she has a direct pecuniary interest.

SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
