An Act authorizing the change in use of certain park land in the city of Springfield.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. The city of Springfield, acting by through its city council, with the approval of its mayor, may convert a small portion (approximately 4.9 acres) of Blunt Park land, as shown on the plan attached as Exhibit 1A, entitled "Detail of Proposed Conversion Area" by GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc.," from park use, for the construction of a new Senior Center, under the control of the Springfield Park Commission.

SECTION 2. In consideration for the conversion of 4.9 acres of Blunt Park Land for the building of a Senior Center, the city of Springfield will dedicate, and the Springfield Park Commission agrees to accept, replacement park land consisting of approximately 6.5 acres including Acquisition Area A and Acquisition Area B as shown on the plan attached Exhibit #1B, entitled “Proposed Acquisition Plan”, which land is located approximately 0.1 miles southwest of Blunt Park at the intersection of Alton Street and Roosevelt Avenue, which will result in a net gain of approximately 1.6 acres of park land.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
