An Act Relative to Massachusetts High School Diplomas.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 1. Section 1D of Chapter 69 of the Massachusetts General laws, as appearing in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting the following paragraph after the words "obtain a competency determination" in line 75:
Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, no student who has met all other requirements for a high school diploma, including passing grades in all required courses, shall be denied a diploma because of a score on a state standardized test. This provision shall apply for three school years following the effective date of this act.
