An Act criminalizing the rental of cars to be used in crimes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Chapter 266 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after section 87A the following section:-
Section 87B. Whoever intentionally enters into a rental agreement governing the use of a private passenger automobile, as defined in section 32E½ of chapter 90, knowing that such automobile will be used in the commission of a crime punishable by imprisonment in the state prison shall be an accessory before the fact to such crime and shall be punished by imprisonment in a jail or house of correction for not more than 2 ½ years or by a fine of not more than $10,000, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
