An Act to increase public school funding in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Chapter 94C of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 47A the following section:-

Section 47B. (a): The moneys seized through civil forfeiture shall be subjected to the following procedure(s):

(1) One-third of moneys seized by means of civil forfeiture as explained in section 47 shall be placed directly into the Massachusetts Department of Education general fund.

(2) The remaining two-thirds of seized moneys will be left to be controlled as written in section 47 subsection d.                    

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect on January first, two-thousand and sixteen.
