An Act concerning speed limits in the city of Boston.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1.Notwithstanding sections 17 and 18 of chapter 90 of the General Laws, or any general or special law, or regulation to the contrary, the speed limit shall be 20 miles per hour on public ways in a thickly settled or business district, as defined in section 1 of said chapter 90, and 15 miles per hour within a school zone, established by the city of Boston pursuant to section 2 of chapter 85 of the General Laws, unless the speed limit is otherwise posted pursuant to said section 18 of said chapter 90. This act shall apply to public ways subject to the control of the city of Boston.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
