SECTION 1. Section 1L of chapter 69 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the second paragraph the following paragraph:-
All school committees and school districts shall provide for psychomotor skill-based cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and an overview of automated external defibrillator use for all high school students prior to graduation. This shall at a minimum include psychomotor skill, which means the use of hands-on practicing to support cognitive learning. Cognitive-only training shall not qualify as cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.
SECTION 2. The department of elementary and secondary education shall establish rules and regulations for monitoring adherence to section 1.
