An Act relative to safe schools.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 1B of Chapter 76 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding at the end, the following sentence:--

The provisions of this section shall not apply when a principal has been notified of a student’s absence by the parent or guardian of such student in advance and the principal has determined that such absence will not have a substantially negative impact on the student’s educational progress.
