SECTION 1. The health policy commission, in consultation with community hospitals, shall develop a marketing campaign to show the high value of community hospitals and the cost and quality benefits to patients and employers of seeking care in local settings. The commission shall direct not more than $500,000 from the Distressed Hospital Trust Fund established in section 2GGGG of chapter 29 of the General Laws to fund the development and implementation of the marketing campaign.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect as of July 1, 2016.
