An Act exempting officers in the town of Grafton Police Department from the civil service law..

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, all ranks of sworn police officers in the police department of the town of Grafton previously subject to  chapter 31 of the General Laws shall be exempt from said chapter 31.

SECTION 2. Section 1 shall not impair the civil service status of any sworn police officer employed on a permanent basis in a civil service position in the police department of the town of Grafton on the effective date of this act.

SECTION 3. This act shall be effective upon passage.
