An Act ratifying certain by-laws in the town of Easton.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 32 of chapter 40 of the General Laws or section 5 of chapter 40A of the General Laws, or any other general or special law to the contrary, the clerk of the town of Easton may submit all bylaws approved by the town meeting since January 1, 2009 to the attorney general for review and the attorney general shall, upon submission of all information necessary to demonstrate compliance with said section 32 of said chapter 40 and said section 5 of said chapter 40A, except timeliness, undertake review of the bylaws pursuant to said section 32 of said chapter 40 or said section 5 of said chapter 40A as if the by-laws had been submitted in a timely manner. Upon either the attorney general’s approval of the bylaws, or the expiration of applicable statutory time periods without action by the attorney general, the bylaws shall be ratified; provided, that, a zoning bylaw shall take effect on the date of the town meeting at which it was approved and a general bylaw shall take effect 90 days after the date of the town meeting at which it was approved.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
