An Act authorizing the Three Rivers Fire District to continue the employment of Michael Matthieu.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Michael Matthieu, a firefighter with the Three Rivers Fire Department, may continue in his position until March 31, 2018; provided, however, that Michael Matthieu is mentally and physically capable of performing the duties of the position. If requested, Michael Matthieu shall, at the expense of the fire district, be examined by an impartial physician designated by the prudential committee to determine his capacity. No further deductions shall be made from the regular compensation of Michael Matthieu pursuant to chapter 32 of the General Laws for any service subsequent to March 31, 2017 and upon retirement Michael Matthieu shall receive a superannuation retirement allowance equal to that which he would have been entitled had he retired on March 31, 2017.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
