An Act relative to the membership of representative town meeting in the town of Framingham.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 3 of Chapter 143 of the Acts of 1949 is hereby amended by striking the language “The membership of the representative town meeting elected in each precinct shall consist of twelve registered voters other than persons elected or appointed to some other town office, which will result in a total elected membership in the town equal to twelve times the number of voting precincts.” and replacing it with:
“The membership of the representative town meeting elected in each precinct shall consist of nine registered voters other than persons elected or appointed to some other town office, which will result in a total elected membership in the town equal to nine times the number of voting precincts. Such change shall be implemented over a three-year period by reducing the number of town meetings elected annually from each precinct from four to three.”
