An Act preventing the disposal of hydraulic fracturing wastewater.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 43 of chapter 21 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding after paragraph 10 the following paragraph:-
(11) (a) “Hydraulic fracturing” Hydraulic fracturing” means the process of pumping a fluid into or under the surface of the ground in order to create fractures in a geologic formation for the purpose of the production or recovery of oil or gas.
(b) No person shall be permitted to collect, store, dispose of, or treat wastewater from hydraulic fracturing.
