Murphy relative to authorizing the town of Hingham’s Trustees of the Bathing Beach to enter into a certain lease agreement.  Municipalities and Regional Government.

An Act relative to a parcel of land known as the Bathing Beach Bathhouse in the town of Hingham.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Chapter 177 of the acts of 2012 is hereby repealed.

SECTION 2. The town of Hingham may authorize the Trustees of the Bathing Beach to enter into a lease for any purpose permitted by the trust deed set forth in section 3 for the erection of buildings on said land, as provided in section 2 of chapter 75 of the acts of 1935; including, but not limited to, a lease for the purpose of demolishing, constructing, renovating or maintaining a bathhouse and a snack stand to increase the public enjoyment of the area and the adjacent waterfront on a parcel of land located between Otis street and Hingham harbor in the town of Hingham, shown as lot 51 on assessor’s map 50.

SECTION 3. The parcel of land is held in trust by the Trustees of the Bathing Beach, under transfer certificate of title number 5167 issued by the Plymouth registry district and said chapter 75 of the acts of 1934, as provided by deed of Louis C. Cornish dated November 21, 1916 and registered in said district as document number 936, to hold, manage and improve, as a park, bathing beach or playground for the benefit of the people of Hingham.

SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
