_______________
An Act relative to National Guard life insurance.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 33 of the General Laws is hereby amended by striking out Section 88B , as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, and inserting in place thereof the following section:-Section 88B. The Commonwealth shall reimburse or pay a Massachusetts National Guardsman’s monthly premium in the Serviceman's Group Life Insurance Program administered by the Veterans Administration or an equivalent group life insurance program of the serviceman’s choosing, provided that the reimbursement or premium payment shall not exceed 50 per cent of the monthly premium cost of Serviceman's Group Life Insurance. The Massachusetts National Guard State Sponsored Life Insurance Program is recognized as an equivalent group life insurance program. The servicemember may chose instead of receiving the Serviceman's Group Life Insurance reimbursement, that the amount of the reimbursement may be applied toward payment of a State Sponsored Life Insurance premium.
