An Act relative to beverage safety.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Chapter 140 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after Section 6B the following section:-

Section 6C. A common victualler licensed pursuant to section 2 shall offer, to each customer who is served a beverage of any kind, a lid or other cover to protect the contents of the customer’s cup, mug or other drinking vessel from any form of contamination against the customer’s knowledge or authorization.  A violation of this section shall be punished by a fine of not more than $1,000 or imprisonment for not more than 60 days in house of correction.
