Section 1 of chapter 151 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:-
A city or town by ordinance or by-law may establish a minimum wage greater than the wage otherwise required by this section and a higher minimum wage for tipped employees than the wage required by section 7. The minimum wages established under this paragraph shall be the minimum wages for the purpose of all laws providing for administration and enforcement of minimum wages, including section 19 and other provisions of this chapter and sections 27C and 150 of chapter 149. The ordinance or by-law may provide that specified municipal officers shall have concurrent authority with the attorney general under section 27C of chapter 149 to enforce the ordinance or by-law.
