An Act relative to landlord notification.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, in the event that a public safety official of a city or town identifies a potential public health or public safety threat within a residential dwelling, including but not limited to a situation which necessitates shutting off utility service to all or part of the residential dwelling, the city or town shall make every reasonable effort to immediately contact the homeowner and alert them of the problem.
