An Act relative to the issuance of uniform firefighter identification cards.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Chapter 48 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended, by inserting after section 90, the following new section:-
“Section 91. Each city or town shall issue to every full-time firefighter employed by it an identification card bearing the firefighter’s photograph and identifying information. The secretary of public safety and security in consultation with the state fire marshal may adopt regulations relative to the form, content and issuance of such identification cards and to the carrying thereof by municipal firefighters. Such identification card shall be carried on the firefighter’s person and shall be exhibited upon lawful request for purposes of identification.”
