An Act relative to reducing other post-employment benefit liabilities.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 10 of Chapter 32A, as appearing in the 2012 Edition of the General Laws, is hereby amended by adding the following sentence to the end thereof:-
This section shall not apply to employees whose service begins after January 1, 2016.
SECTION 2. Chapter 32B, as appearing in the 2012 Edition of the General Laws, is hereby amended by adding the following new section to the end thereof:-
SECTION 30. A county, except Worcester county, by vote of the county commissioners, a city having a Plan D or a Plan E charter by majority vote of its city council, any other city by vote of its city council, approved by the mayor, a regional school district by vote of the regional district school committee and a district by vote of the district at a district meeting, and a town by vote of its town meeting, may provide that it will not provide for blanket hospital, surgical, medical, dental and other health insurance upon retirement for employees whose service begins after January 1, 2016 or whose service begins after the vote, whichever comes later.
