An Act relative to retirement benefits and UMass Memorial Health Care, Inc.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION1. Section (a) of Section 5 of Chapter 163 of the Acts of 1997 is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:
Notwithstanding any provisions of this subsection to the contrary, any regular employee who satisfies the requirement of subdivision (2) of Section 10 of Chapter 32 of the Massachusetts General Laws for persons who have completed 30 or more years of creditable service shall be eligible for the retirement benefits authorized in said subdivision (2) of said Section 10 of said Chapter 32 for persons satisfying such requirements.
SECTION 2. This act shall apply to any regular employee under Chapter 163 of the Acts of 1997 who retired on or after November 25, 1997.
