An Act authorizing the town of Tolland to continue the employment of police officer Lester M. Walker.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Lester M. Walker, a police officer with the police department of the town of Tolland, may continue in that position until he reaches 70 years of age; provided, however, that he is mentally and physically capable of performing the duties of such office; and provided further, that he shall be examined by a physician to determine such capability . Deductions shall continue to be made from the regular compensation of Lester M. Walker pursuant to chapter 32 of the General Laws for any service performed until the date of his retirement.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
