An Act authorizing municipalities to authorize real estate tax rebates to qualified property owners.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Any city or town accepting this section is hereby authorized to appropriate monies for and grant property tax rebates in an amount not to exceed $750 annually to persons 65 or older who have lived in their homes for 10 years or more and who qualify for a credit on their Massachusetts income tax under the provisions of subsection (K) of section 6 of chapter 62 of the General Laws.
