An Act dedicating a portion of the stabilization fund to cities and towns.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 2H of chapter 29 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word "units.", in line 19, the following sentence:-

"Not less than ten percent of the total amount of the fund shall be designated and set aside for the sole purpose of avoiding or mitigating reductions in the amounts distributed to cities and towns as local aid through programs, including but not limited to Chapter 70 educational funding, lottery aid and additional assistance; provided, however that funds may be expended from the fund for this purpose in addition to those prescribed in (1), (2) and (3) above."
