An Act relative to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and surplus personal property.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 20 of Chapter 6C of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, in line 90, after the word “chapter;” the following words:- “provided , however, that the department utilize the state Surplus Property Program which operates under the Operation Services Division, as defined by Section 4A of Chapter 7 of the General Laws, when disposing of surplus personal property”

SECTION 2. In the event that the Massachusetts Department of Transportation determines that it is not feasible to use the state Surplus Property Program, then the department must design their own similar program and report back to the clerk and the legislature within six months of the passage of this act.
