An Act providing for the safety of bicyclists traveling on bicycle paths.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 11 of chapter 89 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended  by adding, in lines 3, 5, 6, 11, 12 and 18, after the word “pedestrians” in each instance the words:- “or bicyclists” and further amended, by adding in line 15, after the words “vehicles may proceed.” the following sentence:-

“Nothing in this statute shall relieve a bicyclist from the responsibility of giving right-of-way and yielding to pedestrians in a crosswalk.”
