An Act relative to the appointment of assistant city clerks in the city of Gardner.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 18 of Chapter 41 or any other general or special law to the contrary, the city of Gardner may, by ordinance, establish two assistant city clerk positions and prescribe the manner of appointment, compensation, and powers and duties.  The certificate or attestation of an assistant city clerk shall have the same effect as that of the city clerk.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
